Sanlaap is planning a Bangla adaptation of OBOS, which they describe as a trans-creation, for distribution in India and Bangladesh. To facilitate planning and implementation, the coordinating group has established an advisory group comprising women’s groups from West Bengal and Bangladesh, and in the coming year, will select sections of OBOS for cultural adaptation, identify experts to serve as resources on the project, and conduct focus groups discussions to understand cultural needs and gaps. |

TAHEA is developing a Kiswahili adaptation of OBOS, involving diverse women from surrounding communities and different levels of local and central government. Currently engaged in translation/adaptation, they have also identified culturally relevant topics, especially complementary health practices, for which elders and traditional healers are providing input. Pending funding, the Kiswahili adaptation will be distributed in Tanzania and other countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Malawi, Zambia, and Mozambique, where coordinators are developing networks. |

An innovator in social science research on gender, health, and sexuality, the ISDS plans to adapt OBOS content to develop and distribute a comprehensive self help book and a series of informational pamphlets on priority women’s health topics, starting with HIV/AIDS and stigma. |
